Candidate for
Board Member; San Marcos Unified School District

My wife, Heather, and I have been very active in San Marcos since we moved here in 1994. Heather has served as President of the San Marcos Middle School and San Elijo Middle School Band Boosters, graduated from National University, and is a freelance writer for North County Magazine. We have three children, Aaron, Zachary, and Brooke, who have attended San Marcos District Schools since kindergarten. Aaron graduated from San Marcos High School in 2008, has a private pilot's license, and is working towards a degree in Professional Aeronautics at Miramar College. Zachary and Brooke attend San Marcos High School as a Senior and Sophomore.

I graduated from Poway High School in 1977. After graduation I enrolled at UCSD and ultimately transferred to California State Polytechnic University, Pomona where I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Urban and Regional Planning in 1983. I am employed as a Principal Planner by the City of Escondido and am a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
