Cooperative Partnerships

By Beth Hergesheimer

Candidate for Board Member; San Dieguito Union High School District

This information is provided by the candidate
Maintaining and developing the cooperative partnership between students, teachers, parents, and administration that has been proven to produce achievement and success.
Thanks to the combined efforts of our school board, school administrators, teachers, staff, parents and our community partners, we have much to be proud of. Some examples from during my eight-year tenure:

  • One of our district high schools is the first in the county to break 900 on their API score (and all of our middle schools have also met this milestone!).
  • La Costa Canyon High School and Canyon Crest Academy have new solar power arrays, demonstrating to our students and community our commitment to both the local ecology and strong fiscal strategies.
  • Our Adult School is in its own facility with dedicated classroom space .
  • Canyon Crest Academy is approaching its first 5-year reunion milestone.
  • Every district student is attending their high school of choice for 2012-13.
  • New Career/Technology Pathways have been implemented on our High School campuses, and science labs updated in our Middle Schools.

Visiting entrepreneurs, artists, engineers, technicians and many others enrich classes throughout the district on a daily basis. Continuing and expanding these partnerships so that we can create and ever better school district and a stronger community for all students in our district will be an ongoing effort toward which I commit my district-wide relationships and experience.
