Paulette moved to Escondido in 1976 and attended Glen View Elementary School. Her favorite teacher at Glen View was Mr. Phillips, as he fueled her passion for reading. One of her favorite books that he read to the class from was Mr. Mysterious and Co. Through a music program at Glen View she took on learning how to play the Clarinet.

After Glen View, she attended Hidden Valley Middle School and one of her favorite memories at Hidden Valley was marching with the Raider Band. During her student years as an elementary, middle and high school student she was blessed with excellent teachers who encouraged her and set the stage to become who she is today as a successful adult.

Paulette graduated from Orange Glen High School in 1985 and went on to join the Army directly out of High School. She served 8 years in the U.S. Army and was deployed during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. She served with the 129th Evacuation Hospital out of San Diego, California. She was awarded the U.S. Army Commendation medal for meritorious service while serving during Desert Storm as well as the Kuwaiti Liberation Medal and the Southwest Service Medal with 2 bronze stars.

During her time with the Army, her first son Michael was born. He too, attended schools in Escondido. Conway Elementary School and Hidden Valley Middle School. His favorite teacher growing up was Mr. Bridgewater who taught him Math at Hidden Valley Middle School.

Paulette met and married John Donnellon in 1991. John who is a retired police officer owns and operates JD Built Inc. a large format digital printing business in Escondido.

In 1992, Kevin was born. He attended Juniper Elementary School and spent a year at Hidden Valley Middle School before he became a part of the first group of students to attend Bear Valley Middle School when it opened. His favorite teacher growing up was Mrs. Ruggles at Juniper Elementary School.

Paulette has over 20 years of experience working with technology in Education. She has held positions with CompUSA, Toshiba, Okidata Americas and American Power Conversion. Currently she works at Southland Technology as an Innovation in Education Solution Specialist. As a part of her day to day job, she calls on schools and districts nationwide recommending effective technology solutions to be used in their classrooms. Paulette's involvement with education has spanned from being a member of several different school advisory committees, to being a member of The Association of Teacher Educator's Standing Committee on Technology and the Future of Teacher Education. She has also partnered with Arizona State University to create projects to foster making learning fun for students. She has presented nationally on various subjects related to technology in education. She was invited to and attended an Invitational Summit on Redefining Teacher Education for Digital-Age Learners. Currently her primary focus has been Digital Textbooks and content as more schools join the digital frontier.

Paulette was invited to join the Escondido Education Foundation in 2009. She became Vice President in 2010 and President of the Foundation in 2012. As a member of the foundation, she assisted with planning events with the intent on raising funds for innovative learning for the students of the Escondido Union School District.

Paulette has presented on many topics to Education Groups Nationwide including the Council for Opportunity in Education, Association of Teacher Educators, New Tech Network, Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education and many more.

Paulette is very active in the education and non-profit communities. Involvement includes:

  • The Association of Teacher Educator's Standing Committee on Technology and the Future of Teacher Education + Corporate Committee Member

  • College of Borrego + Board Trustee
