Candidate for
Board Member; La Mesa Spring Valley Elementary School District

Bill Baber is the President of the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District. He has served on the Board since 2003. The district is 17 elementary schools and 4 middle schools educating 12,000 students in the neighborhoods of La Mesa, Spring Valley, El Cajon, Mt. Helix, and Casa De Oro.

Bill was educated K-12 in public schools, received his BA from USC, JD at Cal Western School of Law, and is finishing his MA in history at San Diego State. He worked for five years as an aide to the Mayor of San Diego and is a leader in promoting fair and open competition for public construction.

Bill serves as the San Diego Taxpayer representative on the Citizen Bond Oversight committees for the Lemon Grove School District and the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District. He serves on the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District's Budget Study committee and the La Mesa Environmental Sustainability Commission.

Bill and his wife have been married 26 years with four children, all educated in the La Mesa - Spring Valley schools.
