This November, Santee voters will decide who will become their next Mayor and City Council representative for the next four years. On the ballot running for the City Council seat is newcomer Maggie Acerra.A Santee resident since 1989, Acerra was elected to serve on the Republican Central Committee in the 2010 election, and also founded the Santee / East County TEA Party Group. She is currently the Organizer of the San Diego County TEA Party Forum. Acerra is a member of the San Diego County Taxpayer's Association (SDCTA) and recently completed the SDCTA Pension Reform Certification program. When the Santee Republican Women Federated (RWF) group reorganized, she became a member, and soon found herself working with many other concerned women from Santee and the surrounding East County area. She was elected the group's Treasurer in 2011. After almost two decades there is now an opportunity for Santee to elect new representation to their City Council that is informed, energized, and ready to serve. |
