Leverage what we do best!By leveraging the things we do well, arts, tourism, education and nature. Innovating and attracting people to bring their ideas here, TEDX is a great example of raising the level of the dialogue and getting people together to solve problems. I am committed to a diverse community, where everyone feels valued and respected, reguardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or disability. As a lesbian, and one of the founders of the Gay Straight Alliances in our local schools, I vow to fight discrimination in every form. Under my leadership, I intend to bring the same passion I have for my non-profit organization, Special Parents Information Network (SPIN), to the City Council. For the past 8 years I have grown SPIN's mission while expanding the Family Empowerment Center's on Disabilities vision throughout California. When elected to the Santa Cruz City Council I will encourage people to work together to solve problems and put the unity back in community. |
