Ten-Years of Service to the Fire District

The Scotts Valley Fire District is a model of how well run a government agency can be.

As the current President, of the Board, I'm proud that we have:
Managed ten years of balanced budgets with NO tax increases;
Controlled pension costs and cut Directors pay (at my instigation);
Increased fire safety outreach to neighborhoods and schools;
Up-to-date mapping and communication systems purchased largely using Grants;
Response times are at record lows.

I don't believe this success is an accident.It is the result of dedication, teamwork and smart decision-making throughout the Fire District, from the bottom of the organizational chart to the Chief and the Board level. And, I hope it doesn't sound immodest to say that I think my leadership as a Board Member and President has helped continue the excellence that our Fire District is justly known for.
