	Robert Varich Answers Questions Candidate for Board Member; Moreland School District

Questions & Answers

1. How would you determine that the schools are using federal, state and local funds wisely and fairly and how would you report your findings to the community?

The Moreland Business office regularly updates the Board of Trustees with financial updates as to how and where the funds are being used. This report and subsequent budget meetings and budget adoptions carry this work forward. Moreland continues to do amazing things with shrinking dollars. The community support from Moreland Ed Foundation, Music in Moreland and Sports in Moreland continue to show the commitment by parents and community members for the Moreland students.

2. Are the schools offering instruction appropriate to the diverse educational abilities of all the students?

Moreland Schools continues to be a District to watch in California and the Country. Moreland is a National Award Winner for its diverse education as recognized by the National Association of School Boards with its top in country MEGA Award, one of three winner's nationwide. Moreland has also won State and local recognition with A Goldin Award, Hoffman Awards and Distinguished Schools Awards. Moreland continues to be a Best Practices Model for other districts to visit.

3. Where do you want the District to be five years from now? What steps should the District take to get there?

I would love to see Moreland to continue to build on the student success currently taking place. I want to see continues improvement in articulation to the High School Level and for us to grow the district as our population grows. We need to continue the strong commitment to quality teachers and quality programs. We have a Gem in the Moreland Community.
