Education and Qualifications:
Alum Rock deserves better. For too long, the District has not held students, teachers, parents, or administrators accountable for their performance. I will change that.

As a parent of seven children, I know what has worked and not worked in Alum Rock. We need to invest in what works and do away with what does not.

If elected, I will: 1) Work with a laser-like focus on one thing: the education of young people. 2) Replicate the positive achievements from successful Alum Rock schools - like smaller schools, and the programs at Renaissance Academy, LUCHA Elementary, and Adelante Academy. 3) Value good teachers of Alum Rock. Teachers must achieve high standards, but when they do, they must be compensated fairly. 4) Hold students, teachers, administrators, and parents accountable for student success.

For the sake of our young people, I believe Alum Rock schools can and must improve quickly. To do this, the Alum Rock School District needs strong leadership. I can be one of those leaders.
