Smart Voter Official Statement for Leland Lowe

Candidate for
Board Member; Alum Rock Union Elementary School District

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Occupation: Parent/Businessperson
Age: 50
Education and Qualifications:
The number one priority of the Alum Rock Union Elementary School District must be to provide a solid educational foundation to our children, one that will prepare them to compete in the global economy.

I was born and raised in Alum Rock. I attended Rogers Elementary School, Ocala Middle School, and Mount Pleasant High School. I am the former PTA President at Rogers Elementary School and currently serve on the School Site at Council Renaissance Academy, my daughter's school. I have seen our schools first-hand and know we must do better.

When elected, priorities will be:

1. Prepare Students for Future Success.

2. Build Partnerships. Businesses need to partner with schools to help prepare future workers and provide much-needed resources.

3. Guard Taxpayer Money. As a businessperson, I am a champion for strong fiscal oversight.

4. End Bickering. We've witnessed too much conflict between key District stakeholders. This must stop. On behalf of students, we must work together for their benefit.

As a former Alum Rock student and current parent, I ask for your vote. I will be a commonsense voice and ensure students are prepared for Silicon Valley's future.
