I have been living in Milpitas with my family for over 30 years and I've always been active in school and the community. My education includes a BS in computer science and an MBA. My work experience and my school activities serve me well to be on the Milpitas school board.

Having served as a school board member in the Milpitas Unified School District (MUSD) for the past 18 months, I have formed a strong working relationship with my fellow board members and district employees. We have mutual trust and respect for each other as we work together to improve our schools. In addition, I have been a member of Community Board of Advisory Council (CBAC) for three years as I have worked to understand and communicate school issues between the school board and the community. Previously I have served as an officer on a school's PTSA and School Site council.

I have volunteered for 17 years as a school board member for the non-profit Milpitas Community Chinese School. I learned a great deal about many school issues such as budgeting, hiring/training teachers, parent communication, developing curriculum, working with volunteers, and planning events.

Working in hi-tech for over 30 years has given me many valuable experiences in managing people and projects. Certified as a Project Manager (PMI), I often play the role of a "bridge builder" or "linker" at work. Connecting functional groups such as R&D, marketing, finance, and manufacturing, I work to bring them together to successfully complete projects. As a process improvement expert, I manage programs to bring efficiency and effectiveness to the organization. It's all about teamwork to bring a diverse group of people to achieve a common goal.

I value balance and fairness. I'm analytical, always thinking of ways to improve. With the ability to use data, knowledge and judgment to evaluate alternatives, I make decisions objectively and impartially.

In education, it's about preparing our students to be successful in the global economy. We need to connect the teachers, administrators, students, parents, community members, and local businesses to help our students achieve success.

Sharing ideas, improving communication, implementing new programs, and supporting each others are all part of my goals at MUSD. If you live or work in Milpitas, whether you have kids in the district or not, you are part of the MUSD family. We must work together as a team with a common purpose. Please join us in supporting and helping students to achieve their goals.
