This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Occupation: Santa Clara County Supervisor
Education and Qualifications:
I'm running for Palo Alto City Council because I believe I have the leadership and experience necessary for our community to continue to prosper and thrive.

This wonderful and unique city has been our home for many years. My husband, Rick, and I have raised our daughters and built our lives here.

Palo Alto has realized unprecedented achievements in education, technology and quality of life; yet many aspects of our city's future remain uncertain. We face serious challenges in preserving city services, controlling escalating pension costs, ensuring economic vitality and environmental sustainability.

I first served on the PAUSD Board, then the City Council--including two terms as Mayor--before being elected to the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors. Years of experience in local and county government give me unparalleled expertise that will serve Palo Alto well.

My budgeting skills have been honed by making tough fiscal decisions. My regional record--on issues from transportation to land use and sustainability is extensive--and has given me a critical, problem-solving approach with a long-term perspective.

Elected leaders Anna Eshoo, Joe Simitian, Rich Gordon, Gary Fazzino, Sid Espinosa, Yiaway Yeh and hundreds of Palo Altans have endorsed me. I respectfully ask for your vote.
