Smart Voter Official Statement for Albert Gonzalez

Candidate for
Trustee; Santa Clara Unified School District; Trustee Area 2

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Occupation: Governing Board Member, Santa Clara Unified School District/ Engineer/Businessman
Education and Qualifications:
Santa Clara Unified School District is improving. Our schools are providing a competitive education, test scores are rising, and we have expanded our district Plus programs, but there is still work to be done.

All children have the right to learn their basics - both in Math, English and the Arts. We must narrow the achievement gap, increase educational options, and provide our teachers and staff with the resources needed to make sure every child succeeds.

My name is Albert Gonzalez. I was the first in my family to earn a college degree. I know that all children can succeed, regardless of ethnicity or socio-economic status. I'm the father of two elementary students and a middle school student, husband of a high school math teacher, engineer, and experienced tutor and trustee. I've gained a wealth of knowledge while serving on the board for the past four years and I'm prepared and willing to continue serving you and advocating for all students.

Here is what Frank Biehl, Past President of the Santa Clara County School Boards Association had to say: "A strong leader, thoughtful and hardworking, Albert Gonzalez is a trustee making a difference in our schools."
