Smart Voter Official Statement for Lisa M. Gillmor

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Santa Clara; Seat 6

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Occupation: Small Business Owner/Vice Mayor/Parent
Age: 52
Education and Qualifications:
It has been my honor to serve the residents of Santa Clara and our hometown as a member of the City Council. This is a great community and my husband and I could not think of a better place to raise our three children.

As a Councilmember, my priorities are simple - maintaining and enhancing the small town character we all cherish; making sure that we have the very best police and fire department personnel and equipment to keep our neighborhoods, streets and families safe; helping to foster a positive business climate so small, medium and big companies will continue locating here and providing city residents with sustainable jobs; and making sure you get the best city services while maintaining a balanced budget and building up our reserves.

Challenges face us, but my background as a small business owner and community volunteer provide me with a unique perspective to help face them. Public employee pension reform, a more vibrant downtown and making sure our general fund has no negative impacts from the 49er stadium are some of my priorities that must be addressed.

I respectfully ask for your consideration and vote to continue serving you and your family.
