Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Carol S. Timm

Candidate for
Member, City Council; City of Upland

This information is provided by the candidate

As a community leader, teacher, and commissioner, I believe the next council person needs to be someone who has given back to the community, has knowledgeable experience, and believes this position to be a sacred oath to our citizens.

My first priority is addressing the city budget due to the extreme crisis in Upland. I believe balancing the budget and pension reform are important to the viability of Upland. Public safety with our fire department, paramedics and police are of prime importance. As an educator we must maintain and preserve the library. In addition, I have a real concern for seniors and the homeless issues that need to be addressed in our city.

Upland needs to bring back its reputation as the city of gracious living. To accomplish that goal, we must stay within our budgetary means, maintain public services, promote economic growth, and bring back jobs. I want the opportunity to help City Council earn back the trust of the people through transparency, honesty and more accountability. I feel passionately that with experienced insight into our government, integrity and my vision for the future will restore Upland back to its roots.
