My pledgeEvery elected official occupies a position of trust. I strive to perform my duties as City Clerk in a manner worthy of the trust placed in me by you, the residents. I believe the City Clerk has an obligation to serve as the watchdog for the democratic process to ensure the constitutional principles which keep us free are adhered to. I will continue to support and defend American democracy in every aspect of our local government. I will continue to provide an accurate and thorough record of the proceedings of your government and to provide easy access to that record to every member of the public. During my tenure in this office, we have managed to scan and digitize over 18,000 documents in preparation toward providing internet access to all City of Redlands documents. I will continue this effort and seek new avenues to enhance the flow of information between the Redlands city staff, elected officials and the public to provide a better exchange of ideas and, therefore, better government. As long as you let me do this job, I'll be here, I'll be watching, I'll be listening and I'll make sure an accurate and complete record is kept available to you. |
