As a Council member I would be able to use my position to promote businesses that are green (i.e. solar) or technical in nature (i.e. Lynda.com) which would have minimal resource impact.Further, by encouraging use of Amtrak, Carpinteria's small beach town businesses could take advantage of being a car free shopping/dining/beach destination. I have worked on community events and with the City Host program to advance local businesses. |
