LIZ PHILLIPS FOR ORCUTT UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT
I am seeking your vote to allow me to bring a fresh perspective to the Orcutt Union School District. I have been involved in the District in a variety of ways: Parent volunteer, PTA president, classified staff and teacher, and I truly understand thte needs of students, teachers and parents.
I bring a broad perspective that includes detailed knowledge of the District; and understanding of budgeting process; and ability to be objective and fair; and an appreciation of the diverse needs of the District.
It is the responsibility of the District administration to provide teachers and staff with the necessary resources, training and support to effectively educate our children and to ensure a safe school environment. My role as board member is to ensure that District funds are efficiently managed and all decisions support the mission of the District; "Where Kids Come First".
My education and experience have prepared me to understand fiscal responsibility and effective leadership. If elected, I will be a visible board member, responsive to the community's needs. I will listen to all interested persons: Students, administrators, parents, teachers, staff and community members.
