Tom Lopez is President and owner of TSL Consulting Engineers, Inc. TSL is a structural, civil and design office with experience in all aspects of the building and development industry. In addition to structural engineering, Tom coordinates land planning, entitlement processing activities, project design, engineering and construction management for residential, multi-family, commercial and tenant improvement projects. Prior to moving to Santa Maria, Tom was an associate in the Santa Monica office of Vincent Kevin Kelly and Associates, Structural Consulting Engineers where he worked on various residential, commercial, and amusement park projects. He is a professional member of the International Code Council and a volunteer Civil Engineer with the Safety Assessment Program for the State of California Governor's Office of Emergency Services. He received his Architectural Engineering degree from Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo and is a licensed professional Civil Engineer in California.

Actively involved in the community, Tom is a member of Young Farmers and Ranchers; a graduate of the City of Santa Maria Police Department's Citizen's Academy and also actively supports the Allan Hancock College Foundation Board where he serves on the Board of Directors. He is past Chairman of the City of Santa Maria Planning Commission and currently serves as a commissioner.

In his free time he enjoys working out, traveling, hiking, cooking and dining out. In the fall, high school, college and professional football consumes much of his free time.
