Pam Tobin President, San Juan Water District

My background in water is important because powerful Southern California special interests want our water. My job is to stop them.

I've been a member of the Regional Water Authority board since 2005, was elected as chair and elected to its Executive Committee in 2011, served two consecutive terms as chair of the Sacramento Ground Water Authority and it has been my privilege to serve the people on San Juan Water District's board since 2004.

I am proud to say that under my direction San Juan is the most efficiently run water district in the State. I led the charge on pension reform to ensure that our pensions were viable over the long term and under my direction the installation of our Solar Power Project has saved the rate payers in this District nearly a half million dollars annually.

Currently, our water rates are among the lowest in the state, but 2012 will be an important year for decisions at the statewide level that could affect water supplies for our region and the cost of delivering water to our customers. I respectfully ask for your vote to continue my fight to preserve our water rights now and in the future.
