Ben Phillips has been saving people money for over 23 years. He has worked in various sectors including the green, financial, and telecommunications industries. He currently serves as an appointed member of the SMUD Community Advisory Panel where he helps SMUD outreach to local small businesses. Having worked in management positions for various Fortune 500 companies and financial institutions, Phillips' experience is rooted in identifying cost-efficient ways to do business. Some of the organizations he has worked for include Pacific Bell, SBC Communications, The Golden 1 Credit Union, Solano First Federal Credit Union, and the California Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce. His professional experience ranges from managing multi-million dollar budgets and portfolios to identifying ways that large businesses and agencies can save money by "going green" and adopting energy efficiency practices in their place of business. Phillips has donated his time and services as a board member of the following community organizations: Sacramento Rainbow Chamber of Commerce, Sacramento Gay & Lesbian Center, and the Sacramento Metropolitan Lions Club. He has contributed to the Metro EDGE Regional Action Committee. He is actively involved in the green energy movement as a community member of Sacramento with various green initiatives. In 2011 Benjamin was recognized as the 2011 Ambassador of the Year for the Sacramento Asian Chamber of Commerce. He was also recognized as a 2011 "Top 40 under 40" finalist by the Sacramento Business Journal. His work and contributions to the community have been featured in various local media. Ben lives in Sacramento with his partner Lonny and in his spare time enjoys coaching and mentoring new business owners. |
