This information is provided by the candidate |
Business, Education, Equality, Real Estate and Safety are top priorities. Together we can make Elk Grove a place to live, work, shop and for recreation. My name is LaWanna Montgomery. I am running for Mayor or Elk Grove to do the hard work. My twin daughters will be attending 2 different Universities this fall and I want them to know that their mother is home fighting for them to have a bright future. A Place Where Dreams Come True. I believe that jobs, attracting businesses, while retaining current businesses, building the Mall, infrastructure, affordable housing, sports and education are top priorities. Does Elk Grove have everything you need? I believe we need more to make Elk Grove a one stop shop. A place where all your needs are met. As an educator, business owner and parent of twins I believe we have a commitment to the success of our citizens. I am currently the CEO/President of the Reach Learning Center, substitute teacher for the Elk Grove Unified School District and served on the School Site Council at Cosumnes Oaks High School. I graduated with a BA from Sacramento State University. I received my teaching certificate from BMED Bilingual Multi-Cultural Education Department. I worked on my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and did my project on Parent Involvement. In addition, I hold a Preliminary Administrative Certificate. I am a State Supplemental Provider approved by the California Department of Education since 2004. My organization tutored over 1000 students in Northern and Southern California. I have taught in the public and private sector. I was invited to White House to attend a Business Council Meeting. At the meeting I met many leaders who help to make our country successful. I will bring accountability to the mayor's office and bring the focus back to the people. As mayor, I will be your voice and together we will thrive to make Elk Grove a place to live, raise your family, work, for recreation and much more. This election is a historic event for Elk Grove. For the first time voters will elect a mayor. You want someone new to lead you into the 21st Century. You want to elect a mayor with defined duties and responsibilities, leadership, accountability and transparency. This election is much bigger than selecting current council members. If that was the case, we would have left things the same way and rotated in another Mayor. You want a mayor voted in by the people working for the people. This election means that current council had their chance and now it's time to elect a mayor. Elect LaWanna Montgomery she is a leader responsible for preparing annual accountability reports for the California Department of Education, bookkeeping, always available to meet with constitutes, a person who can increase revenue, create jobs with livable wage, a person who can work with all people. A person who will bring in new business, while retaining current business. Vote for LaWanna Montgomery, a leader who will handle tough decisions and get the job done. |
