I was born and raised in Anaheim, CA, and primarily raised by my mother and grandmother. My mother and grandmother were hard workers and always emphasized the importance of my education.

I came to Northern California to attend UC Davis where I obtained a bachelor's degree in Animal Science. At the time I was a young single mom and supported myself and my son through my college years. I moved to the Natomas area in 2003. After researching many areas in Sacramento, I decided that Natomas was the perfect place for my son and I. Since then, I got married, added two daughters to our family, purchased a house, and obtained my Master's in Business Administration from the Natomas campus of the University of Phoenix. My family is vested in Natomas and we are here to stay.

A year after graduating from UC Davis, I was hired by the California School Boards Association in an entry level position. I've advanced five positions over the last ten and a half years and currently I am the Director of the District and Financial Services department. I have learned so much about public schools during my tenure and continue to learn more each day. In my current position, I manage two of the three CSBA auxiliary corporations which include 28 programs that help districts obtain short and long term financing and connect districts with programs to help maximize resources and/or generate additional revenue. Working for CSBA allows me to stay up to date on education issues and legislation affecting schools and I have direct access to tools that will help me be an efficient leader in Natomas USD.

My employment at CSBA created a natural desire to get involved in our public schools on a local level. Over the years and presently, I volunteer my time at schools, donate supplies, participate heavily in PTA and PTSA membership and planning, participate in the District/Parent Advisory Council, helped raise over $20,000 so that 25 Natomas Middle School kids could go to Washington DC regardless of income level, help raise money for Safe and Sober Grad Night, and participate in the planning of the Guns and Hoses event, of which I was a founding committee member.

My job as a board member will be to provide each child with a safe environment in which they receive a top notch education with an abundance of opportunities for engaging young minds. Being a mother my entire adult life means I've never made a decision that didn't start with "How will this affect my child or children?" I promise to continue to ask that for all our children if I'm elected and I would be honored to have your vote for Natomas Board of Trustees on Election Day.
