Director; Carmichael Water District; Division 4

Ron Greenwood has been a long time Carmichael resident for over 28 years. Originally from Texas, Ron and his wife (Cleo) have been married for over 33 years and are extremely proud of their 4 children and 4 grandchildren. After graduating from the University of Texas at El Paso, he developed a long, highly successful career in sales and management in the garment industry. For over the past 20 years Ron has developed a successful and well respected real estate career. That career has included eight years as a manager, and elected to represent his local Association (SAR) and state Association (CAR).

Ron strongly believes in community involvement and working to protect property values. His committment is founded on the belief in making sure that the essentials of a well run local government are in place and maintained. These essentials include providing the highest quality of education, water, fire, and waste treatment and service, while controlling costs. He also believes that communication and transparency in government are critical and extremely important. Ron is a proud member of the Kiwanis Club of Carmichael over the past twenty years. During that time he has worked to help raise money and donate funds to the children of the community. During his years of membership he served as President of the Club.

Ron has been a director for the Carmichael Water District for the past five years. During that time he was honored by being selected to the Executive Committee of the Regional Water Authority (RWA) where he serves as Carmichael's Director Representative. In the past years that Association has brought in over a million dollars in grants to Carmichael. In the coming years, the District should continue to greatly benefit from his involvement and position with the Association. Ron was also selected as the Special District Representative to Sacramento County's Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo). This is a very special position affecting land use and providing services to the County's communities. Selection for this position required earning a high level of respect from leaders throughout Sacramento County and brings valuable oversight propective to community. Ron's passions with regards to his community are represented by his years of dedication and hard work.

While a tireless, committed, and hardworking advocate for all of the citizens of his community, Ron still takes great pride in his family. Family outings, backpacking and fly fishing trips with his son, golf trips and just spending quality time with his family are extremely important to him.
