Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Trish Dawson

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Citrus Heights

This information is provided by the candidate

Citrus Heights cannot afford a bad reputation. We need to maintain high levels of police and fire protection, create fallback programs to fix streets and increase police staffing if Measure K is not endorsed by the voters and advocate with the business community to promote Citrus Heights businesses and events.

I strongly believe that the City's reserve must be protected from state plundering. In the 15 year we have been a City, we have lost Vehicle License Fees, Redevelopment Funds and now have the added burden of monitoring the Early Released prisoners. We need to band with the regional leaders and say Enough!

We need to keep a sharp pencil. Fiscal discipline has been the saving grace for our City. I will carry on the tradition of service, commitment and progress vital to the future of Citrus Heights.

I am an experienced advocate for the business community and understand the challenges they endure to keep their doors open. A seat on the council provides a "bully pulpit" to advocate for the business and ensure that the City Hall gauges the impact on business before making decisions.

I am the only candidate to devise and implement a citywide Architectural Achievement: the Citrus Heights Community Center.

I stood with the Chamber and demanded that San Juan School District take action to improve our educational environment. I am the only candidate who has worked with the City, the school district, the fire department and the utility districts to modernize an invaluable asset to the community: the New San Juan High School.

I have shown that I have the qualities of leadership, vision and talent. My commitment to the community is firmly rooted as a parent, homeowner, taxpayer and business leader.

I am honest as the day is long. I am hard working, willing to put in the time to be effective. I am dedicated to serve, not a politician looking for a stepping stone. I know how to get thing done!
