I have served as a good government advocate for non-partisan organizations* such as Common Cause and the California Public Interest Research Group (CalPIRG) for the past 17 years. I would be honored to serve Sacramento in updating our city charter.

As an expert in campaign finance reform, election systems, and government transparency I have testified before the U.S. Senate, California legislature, Sacramento City Council, federal courts, and the California Fair Political Practices Commission. I have worked successfully to reform California's redistricting system, improve our voter registration practices, and streamline the state budget process while enhancing accountability and exposing government waste and corruption. (read my full resume here.)

Sacramento is a great city, but we need to improve our city finances, our schools, and our local economy. Better city government will lay the foundation for better jobs for working families, a renewed downtown, and rebounding home prices.

Let's work together on a charter review to create a city ethics commission, reduce the influence of big donors and special interests on local elections, and give voters better information about candidates, elected officials, and city spending. And let's take Sacramento to the next level by improving professionalism and accountability in our mayor's office and city council.
