Why must Del Paso Manor WD replace Wells and pipes now?

By Michael A. Clohossey

Candidate for Director; Del Paso Manor Water District

This information is provided by the candidate
All public service infrastructure facilities such as our Wells and water system lines have reached or are nearing the end of their useful life and failure to invest in the next generation of reliable, cost effective, and safe drinking water supplies is not an option.
The Del Paso Manor Water District infrastructure is now more than 50 years old. The primary source of our water is a series of 8 wells. Wells and pipes of the kind originally installed in our neighborhood had a maximum life expectancy of 50 years. So, you can see my primary objective as an incumbent Board member has been and continues to be to make sure our Water District carries out our Master Plan to replace this infrastructure.

Our District has won awards for the quality of its water, has a small but very knowledgeable and professinal staff, and a Board of Directors that has a breadth of expertise who all work well together. We plan ahead, have a service first orientation, and continue to keep our rates among the lowest in the State. We are not high paid government officials. I am your neighbor and have spent many hours doing the research and work needed to make sure we continue to have a well run Water District. This work includes doing what we need to do and that is making the next 50 plus year investment in Wells and supply line replacement. Trust me when I say these decisions are ones that have to be made.
