Candidate for
Board Member; Rio Linda/Elverta Community Water District; 4 Year Term

Duane Anderson is a native Californian, born in Sacramento and raised in California. He has been married for 33 years, has six children and eleven grandchildren.

Mr. Anderson graduated with honors from Elk Grove High School, Cosumnes River College, CSU Sacramento, and earned his teaching credential from National University. He was the first graduate of the music department at CSU to receive the President's Award, their highest recognition and was invited to be a part of the Honor Key Society.

Mr. Anderson has been a public school music teacher for twenty years. He directed bands, choirs and musicals and taught guitar and other music classes to students in Kindergarten through college. He served in the U.S. Army and California National Guard, played as a professional musician since he was 14 years old, and served his church as a missionary in Argentina, where he became fluent in the Spanish Language. He currently owns a couple of businesses in Rio Linda.

Mr. Anderson currently serves his community on the Board of Directors for the Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Park District. Serving on the Recreation and Park District Board is his first foray into elected life. He has been board chairman and currently serves as the chairman of the Admin and Finance Committee.
