Safety and WelfareBy Crystal L RuizCandidate for Council Member; City of San Jacinto | |

Increasing our Police presence has to be a priority for the new City Council. The safety of our children is in our hands and I will make this a priority! The safety and welfare of the citizens of San Jacinto and Hemet is of major concern for some residents today. This has always been priority for me. We have small children who like to play in the park or go for walks. I want my children safe when they do these things. I want to be able to go shopping and not be fearful that one of my children will be taken or that we will be robbed. Just the other day our alarm went off in the house at 4am in the morning. The front door had been opened. Thank God we have other security latches along with the alarm. If we hadn't had the extra protection I am afraid to think of what could have happened. The citizens of this Valley deserve better protection. I have already gone over the budgets and am aware of the cost of staffing the police department. When I am elected we will find ways to bring the cost down while increasing the number of officers. We not only need more officers, but we need to have the community involved. The conversation has only just begun. We can take our city's back and make it a safer place to live. |
