Board Member; Desert Sands Unified School District

At the age of nine, my mother and grandmother instilled in me the fact that children and their education are our most important natural resource. Because of this mentoring, I chose education as my professional career. I have served in the capacities of College Professor and High School Teacher throughout my 39 year career. Daily, the nurturing from my grandmother and mother comes into play in the needs of children throughout their educational cycle.

I have brought this experience and dedication to the Desert Sands Unified School District Board of Education for the past 26 years. I am humbled and honored in my Board role to represent children and their parents regarding educational needs and decision making. Our future and the role our children play is a direct extension of the commitment and dedication educators respond to on a daily basis in the classroom.
