The following are comments about these questions.
We as well as others in the basin need to work on continuing to make the supply in the basin sustainable! We have raised the rates to build out the infrastructure as mentioned later under rates. We are working on the use of water in what is referred to as purple pipes. We are also looking and working with others to bring additional water into the basin!

We found in 2010 we would needed funds to pay for building required infrastructure pipelines, methods to capture surface waters and move them into our collection basins across from the Beaumont High School and expand the size of this facility. A study was performed by Willdan Financial Services, there were many public meetings to discuss the issues before the rates were raised. The current rate structure effective 7/1/2010 with water usage increases in 1/1/2011 and 1/1/2012. We have had to raise rates as the electrical charges are raised by SCE and as the water rates from the SGPWA are raised we must pass on their increase(s). The study and the current rates are published on the District website at: http://www.bcvwd.org
