Accountability, Transparency & Citizen Involvement

By Aaron Hake

Candidate for Council Member; City of Corona

This information is provided by the candidate
I will champion a more open City Hall. Meeting monthly with residents in different neighborhoods, making more city meetings available online, and using technology to communicate with residents more proactively about important decisions that impact your neighborhood.
City Hall can do more to keep you informed, receive your input, and respond to your concerns.

I will lead by example. I pledge to hold casual monthly "Council on Your Corner" town hall chats at different locations around the city to listen to your ideas. I will publish a regular e-newsletter with information helpful to you, the resident. I will always be accessible.

Throughout this campaign, I have personally knocked on thousands of doors to have front-porch conversations with residents. This has been the highlight of the campaign for me!

I will advocate for the following policies:

  • Make more council and commission meetings available live online;
  • Allow comments to council agendas to be submitted electronically;
  • Provide more user-friendly "one-click" opportunities for residents to report issues or ask questions; and
  • Create citizen commissions or task forces for important city issues such as tourism, arts, historic preservation, and economic recovery
