Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Bonnie Gore

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Roseville

Maintain a Lean, Efficient Budget

In these uncertain economic times, we must continue finding ways to cut waste and inefficiency from government. On the City Council, I will push for continued greater oversight of government expenditures. Every program and every department must be audited to identify greater efficiencies that save taxpayer dollars.

An efficient budget means we'll be able to fund the priorities, first among these being public safety.

Additionally, I will rally our local elected officials against the continued stream of unfunded mandates coming from Sacramento. We must stop the legislature from feeding their overspending habit through taking local city tax dollars.

Strengthen Our Community

Roseville is one of the best places in California to raise a family and build a business. To preserve and promote our quality of life, public safety must be a top priority. Well-maintained streets and parks are also essential to protecting our property values, attracting and promoting small business growth, and protecting all of our property values. These will be my priorities.

Jump-Start Economic Development

Businesses thrive and create jobs when government allows the free market to operate. On the Council, I will push for a streamlined, efficient and small-business-friendly permitting process. City Hall should be a one-stop shop so that business owners can spend their time growing their businesses.

I will also work to attract new businesses to Roseville through offering tax and other incentives and by promoting the City at trade shows across the state and nation.

Additionally, I will focus on increasing vocational and higher education in our area so that our workforce can upgrade its skills in technology, sciences, engineering and other vital trades.
