Karen Alvord (wife): "When Scott first shared his interest in serving on our City Council, I was quick to offer Scott my full support. Our family has lived in Roseville for the past 24 years. Originally from the Napa Valley, we love Roseville and chose it as the community to raise our children. I fully support Scott because I believe he is exactly what we want and need in Roseville to continue to have a growing, thriving, safe and family friendly community.

I've known Scott since I was in high school. We married during college and moved here to finish our degrees and start our careers and our family. Scott's integrity as both a family man and business owner is impeccable. If you have had the opportunity to work beside Scott you know that his values of servant leadership, thoughtfulness, kindness, honesty, hard work and dedication shine through.

I have watched Scott over the past 7 years since we opened our family café- A Dash of Panache. He has worked tirelessly to not only grow our business, but also to serve the downtown merchants and Roseville small business community. He spends many hours each week in his business consulting offering free guidance and support to other business owners as they grow their small businesses, set up social marketing strategies to support their businesses, and network with one another. I have also witnessed hours of community service. Most of us have little knowledge of what goes on behind the scenes to create a great city. Because of Scott's involvement in the city revitalization efforts, I have had the privilege of seeing the incredible efforts that go into benefitting all of us who have chosen Roseville to be our community.

Scott is man of great talents, and he believes that his role in life is to use those gifts to serve others. It is for these reasons that I share Scott with our community. He will work to understand the pressing issues facing our city and has an incredibly smart business brain and "out-of-the box" thinking style which will facilitate healthy city planning and decision-making. As a business owner, he knows what it takes to create jobs and to be fiscally responsible. He is also likeable and a great collaborator. He will work well as part of the City Council team.

Please join me in voting for Scott for City Council in the November election. Your vote will make a meaningful difference for this great city." --Karen Alvord, LCSW, (and the Executive Director, Lilliput Children's Services and President of California Alliance of Child & Family Services).
Downtown Roseville Merchants, Inc.: Because Scott serves as their President, he recused himself and stepped out of the board meeting while they discussed his candidacy, made a motion and took a vote. When he returned, they explained that they voted unanimously to endorse him. And to make a statement, they voted to EXCLUSIVELY endorse him! This is a significant statement because the merchants have never endorsed a candidate before! Scott says he still gets emotional every time he tells this story because it was so significant to him as he started his campaign. Here is their letter to him:
"Dear Scott: We are pleased to inform you that the Downtown Roseville Merchant Association board has unanimously approved an EXCLUSIVE endorsement for you as you pursue the Roseville City Council Seat during the 2012 Election. We will not be endorsing any other candidates in this election. This action is unprecedented for the Downtown Roseville Merchants Association as we have not endorsed a candidate in the past. We support your platform as it relates focusing on the core of healthy cities by helping our local businesses be stronger which has a ripple effect of more jobs (less unemployment), increased housing values because employed workers can pay their mortgages, healthier charities because donations can once again increase, and improved City services (police, fire, parks, electricity, roads, etc.) because healthy businesses pay more taxes (but not increased taxes) that support these services. Your leadership and advocacy in Downtown Roseville through various committees: Roseville Chamber Revitalization Committee, The Downtown Roseville Specific Plan, the Roseville Revitalization Committee and the Downtown Roseville Merchants Association have been instrumental in the progress of revitalizing Downtown Roseville and bringing an awareness to the efforts of the small business owner and the viability of Downtown Roseville. We wish you continued success in your campaign efforts."

Mark Montgomery, host of Small Biz Talk Radio (Money 105.5FM, The Wall Street Business Network) wrote: "Listeners and supporters of "Small Biz Talk Radio" know I fully encourage small business owners interested in changing the business climate in California to run for political office. It is important that small business owners throughout California become involved and not sit on the sidelines. Scott Alvord's experience as a small business owner will be invaluable to the Roseville City Council and the many business owners in the City of Roseville. Business expansion and the creation of jobs should be the primary focus of any city wishing a better economic future. This is done through an understanding of how businesses are created and grow. I have known Scott for some time now through his support of Small Biz Talk Radio and I believe Scott to be the right person for the Roseville City Council Seat. During these critical economic times it is very important experienced candidates with small business experience are elected. I therefore whole heartedly and EXCLUSIVELY ENDORSE Scott Alvord for Roseville City Council. Best of luck Scott, you are the best man!"

Jim Bellacera, Founder & President of Successful Thinkers Network says, "It is my pleasure to endorse and recommend Scott Alvord for the Roseville City Council. Scott has shown true leadership and understanding of the importance of small business owners and entrepreneurs to our communities. As the Lead Ambassador of our Roseville Successful Thinkers Network chapter, Scott has led this chapter with high integrity and demonstrated strong leadership skills. I believe Scott is the right person for this position and with his small business experience, he will support and encourage business growth & development which will create jobs and strengthen the economy within the community. I am honored to exclusively endorse Scott Alvord for the Roseville City Council."

Gary Miller, President Roseville City School Board says, "City Council is involved with many issues that affect our daily lives in Roseville. The ability to both comprehend the technicalities of the proposed solutions and to creatively assert the needs of our community involves both a business knowledge and community experience. Scott Alvord has an ideal background and the education and experience to do just this. Without reservation, I endorse him for Roseville City Council and I encourage my constituents to vote for him in the November election."

David Loya, Executive Director of a Significant Roseville Non-Profit, wrote: "As an Executive Director of a non-profit organization I know the importance of being fiscally responsible and accountable to those who provide money so that I may continue to provide services. I believe Mr. Scott Alvord operates under these same principles and therefore endorse his candidacy for the City of Roseville Council. Scott's belief in social mobility will help create jobs in our community allowing organizations like mine to get people back to work so that they may enjoy the wonderful benefits of living in the City of Roseville. Scott is a dedicated member of the Roseville community and has donated his time, energy and money to many local charities. He has not only worked with members of the community, he has also helped to implement plans and programs that will enrich the lives of those around him. In my opinion, Scott's unwavering devotion to his community exemplifies strong moral fiber and character. He is a trustworthy individual and would be an excellent City of Roseville Council Member."

Aric Resnicke, Founder of Christian Business Roundtable, Founder of Peloton Business Advantage wrote: "When things need to get done, always call on people who have a history of getting things done. There is no better candidate for Roseville City Council than Scott Alvord that has his record of accomplishments. It takes leadership and decisiveness to run a business, and these qualities always seem to be lacking in our government. Nobody else understands the local economy better than a local business owner, and Scott certainly understands business + operating right there in the trenches with the rest of us. He'll ask the tough questions, and be courageous enough to make the tough decisions. I endorse Scott Alvord for Roseville City Council."

Tom Bone, Host of "Insurance Matters" Radio Show wrote: "We all must realize that Scott is a breath of fresh air to local politics and to small business. I am pleased to make this an EXCLUSIVE ENDORSEMENT for Scott's election." I find him to be thoughtful, caring and expecting nothing in return for his efforts to help others. Scott is a person with whom everyone wants to know."
Vincent Carstons, Owner of Abacus Accounting Solutions Inc. (Affordable, timely, and accurate tax reporting, accounting, payroll services, and small business consulting in Roseville CA). Scott's many years of business experience, as well as community involvement, makes him the right candidate for Roseville City Council.
