Candidate StatementBy Amy WalshCandidate for Board Member; Westminster School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
As a mother of two children in the Westminster School District, a special education advocate, a community activist and small business owner (with experience in finance, record-keeping, communication, social media), I know the importance of making public education the number one priority in our community. I'm an involved parent who attends every school board meeting to stay informed as to what is going on in our schools. My community service volunteer work includes: PTA executive board member
Local PTA President/Honorary Service Award
Council PTA President
District Advisory Committee member
Parenting Partners Facilitator
Classroom helper
Arts Alliance Coordinator As a result of my experience in our schools, I have seen first hand the great things being accomplished in our classrooms. However, we have a budget crisis facing our state and it is imperative that our hard-earned tax dollars go directly to the classroom, not to administrative salaries, perks and to spiking their pensions. In our diverse district it is my goal to make sure that all of my constituents are fairly represented. I will be accountable to the taxpayers by representing their interests in a fiscally responsible manner. Therefore, I respectfully ask for your vote on November 6th. Thank you. |
