Political Philosophy for Greg Sowards
Candidate for |
The major issues we are facing are clearly budgetary especially in light of the dissolution of redevelopment and the loss of those funds. The last budget update presented to Council shows we will be in a negative position by mid-year. This, in itself, dictates this position be filled with someone who can work with staff as a true team member in order to facilitate the smooth reporting of our financial position to Council. Without this information Council is stripped of the ability to make the critical decisions necessary to keep this city running smoothly and in a timely fashion. The need for someone who not only understands the budgetary process but the process of managing an entity that receives its income in large uneven chunks at different times of the year has never been greater. The planning and execution of this process benefits greatly from my experience in public finance and is enhanced by the melding of in depth experience in private sector finance. "I look forward to once again serving the people of Placentia in a role where I can make a very positive impact". |
