Recycling requirements
Our district,and all districts and cities in the state, potentially face new requirement mandates that will require the district to divert 75% of all trash from the landfills. This is a tall order. When I first was elected to the Board, the deversion rate was 25%. Since then, we have improved our deversion to 57%. The next recycling goal will require new technology and a management team that can put that technology to work. I welcome the challenge.
