Summer Place Homeowners Association, San Clemente, CA a case study in water conservationToday I am president of my community homeowners' association here in South Orange County, a position I have been re-elected to for the last six years. Our community recently completed a turf removal and California native plant transition plan which, quite frankly, has become the "poster child" for water conservation success for the South Coast Water District. Our project was the primary topic of a recent Tri-City Water Savers' forum on water conservation. I and our landscape contractor were the featured presenters on this subject and I'm proud to say we have subsequently instituted a water conservation based sub-metering program in our community which, we're certain, will yield water conservation goals of up to 40 percent savings.
