As a Fullerton Joint Union High School District Board member, I have:
- Lived in the District for 40 years
- Raised my children from Kindergarten through 12th grade in Fullerton schools
- Been president of three PTAs and Fullerton PTA Council
- Been School Board president 3 terms
- Been speaker at State and National School Board Conferences
- Designed and installed landscapes for Fullerton School District (Maple School) and various high school sites at no cost to taxpayers
In addition, I:
- Initiated a study that resulted in four-year AVID programs at five high schools
- Located our current High School District site when FJUHSD headquarters had to be vacated at Beechwood School
- Initiated an analysis of our District construction debt rate which was then reduced, saving taxpayers thousands of dollars in interest payments
- Co-chaired our District Task Force: "Moral and Civic Values" which are posted in every classroom
- Am a founding member of Cal State Fullerton's College of Education Leadership Council which brings a variety of opportunities to our District yearly
- Am Vice Chair of the Committee of Credentialing of the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. As a panel member representing school board members across the State, I am one of seven pro bono appointed individuals who evaluate and recommend penalties for wrongdoing in the education profession - from classroom teacher to and including superintendents. After almost 5 years, I have helped decide about 5,000 cases out of a profession of over
300,000 education professionals in the State of California.
