Mr. Fern is president of Time-to-Profit, Inc., a consultancy focused on project management and product development. His career in Information Technology and Product Development began in 1973. He has held director level positions with Sprint, Control Data Corporation, and TRW. He earned an MS in Technology Management from Pepperdine University in 1992, his Project Management Professional designation in 1998, and his New Product Development Professional in 2003. Ed teaches project management, business process improvement, and product development.

- Implemented the Bankruptcy Notification product which reduced the average personal bankruptcy notification time from six weeks to seventy-two hours. This product generates in excess of $100K per month.
- Created a certification program to validate third party systems used by customers in buying and evaluating credit reports and influencing credit report buying decisions in excess of $15 million each month.
- Consolidated data entry operations from eleven locations to a single operation. Eliminated a customer disturbing 42 day backlog and reduced staff by 34%.
Director, Network Services
- Integrated the voice and data networks of two nationwide credit reporting entities, driving combined operating expenses and head count down by 17% in the post-integration year.
- Re-engineered the distribution network to provide diverse data paths to volume customers while reducing running rate costs by 20%.
- Initiated outsourcing of the X.25, dial portion of the network to achieve a 60% operating cost reduction.
- Led the disaster recovery team that restored network service within 17 hours following the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.
