Political Philosophy for Don Chadd
Candidate for |

|
I will seek to provide the lowest water rates possible. I will encourage plans, programs, and projects that promote strong water reliability. I support all efforts that build a diversified water supply portfolio to guarantee water will be available when it is needed. I believe the promotion of wise water use is imperative for our region. I strongly support school programs that teach about the importance of water. My main priority is to prevent unnecessary water rate increases to the average customer. This can be achieved by having quality regional representatives on the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MET). MET Directors need to be savvy, informed, collaborative, and know the needs of the local agencies. Orange County is dependent on imported water which is delivered largely by MET. Preventing unnecessary water rate increases starts at the very top. The importance of an adequate water supply has two main issues: water supply and water reliability. Water supply currently for the larger Orange County area is with imported water from MET. Supporting solutions to the Bay Delta water delivery problem is essential for our region. Locally, expanded reliability projects, such as desalinization projects, dry season water recovery projects, expanded use of recycled water, and expanded local storage create greater water reliability for the region. |
