WHO IS ED? Ed for Monterey City Council
LEADERSHIP, CHARACTER and PASSION to SERVE! Ed was born in Monterey and raised on the Monterey Peninsula, attending local schools. He graduated from Pacific Grove High in 1971. He married his high school sweetheart Sharron, who graduated from Monterey High School. He and his wife have lived in Monterey and raised two children living in the same home for 31 years. Both of their children graduated from Monterey High School. After graduating from MPC in 1973, Ed and Sharron were married and moved away for college. He attended Sacramento State, graduating with a BA in Criminal Justice. After several years, Ed returned to College, attending night school to work on a Masters Degree, graduating in 1983 from Golden Gate University with an Master's of Public Administration in Federal, State & Urban Governance. "We have always felt that we are very fortunate to have been able to return back home after college and to raise our family in Monterey. We truly love our town." Ed's adult children: Amy Baj (married to Chris) lives in Seattle, Wa. where she is a Public Relations Director. Peter, Ed and Sharron's son, is in the United States Army and currently assigned to an Armor unit in the 1st Division, "The Big Red One." Ed and Sharron have one grandchild, Liam Hunter Smith, three years old, who is a joy to be with. Ed has an established track record and with a wide range of experience in Community, Service and Leadership: Service and Leadership:
