Full Biography for Jose M. Santibanez
Candidate for |
Jose is a Behavioral Specialist II for Tucci Learning Solutions and works directly with children who have autism and other special needs. He has been working with at-risk youth throughout Monterey County since 1996. Jose is a native of Greenfield. He and his wife, Leah Jones Santibanez, have been married for 20 years and have two daughters. They have been active in the community of Greenfield, participating in various committees. Last November, Jose was elected to The Greenfield Memorial District Board of Directors. Prior to that, he served on an appointed committee to establish plans for a new park that were included in an application to the state of California for the Prop 84 Grant. After the committee's first application was denied for sublime efforts, Mr. Santibanez joined another committee member and Greenfield's Interim City Manager to reevaluate their concept and apply again. They also spoke to the community to gather additional thoughts and ideas concerning the project. After resubmitting the modified application, Greenfield was granted 2.9 million from the state for the "Apple Park Project". Mr. Santibanez is also a committee member for the Greenfield Events Committee that held the first annual "Sights and Sounds of Christmas" event last December in downtown Greenfield. Jose has also volunteered his time as a sound man for several community events. As for why he has decided to run for Greenfield's City Council, he has a very simple answer: "This is the city I grew up in and now my family lives here and my children attend school here. I consider it my duty to my family, and my neighbors' families, and the entire community to do everything I can to keep Greenfield as safe and beautiful as possible. I want Greenfield to be a city that residents can be proud to cal their home." |
