Bring New Businesses to Soledad

My plan to attract new businesses to Soledad

During my campaign so far, I have had a lot of questions about the status of Wal-Mart and a movie theatre coming here. I feel those attractions will be a great improvement to Soledad and can help bring revenue here also. With a Wal-Mart, a movie cinema, and/or other businesses, possibly locating here, the home values will go up. With the increase in home values, a lot of distressed properties will start to level off and make homeowners keep their homes instead of losing them to the banks.

The City of Soledad had a five year plan to spruce up the downtown area and attract new businesses. With the current economy that plan has yet to be fulfilled. I plan to continue that plan by looking at federal grants, and any incentives the city may be able to offer new businesses who want to move here. Furthermore, I would like to work with the Small Business Development Workshop, on how we can help local citizens open new businesses here.
