Transparency, Accountability, & Real Solutions

Transparency in our government, truthfulness, and ending secret, back-room deals are the principles in which I believe. During these difficult times, Supervisors must be focused on solutions, be financially prudent, and promote the well being of our residents first. I am committed to these ethics.

Voters elected me three times to the Monterey County Board of Supervisors and our governor appointed me twice (8 years) as the Attorney Member of the California State Water Resources Control Board. I chaired the SWRCB task force on desalination and water reuse.

The County has had 18 years of failed opportunities to solve our water crisis! I believe that working together we can create a publicly-owned, affordable, environmentally superior water project to serve our existing residents and to preserve our economy and jobs. The Board of Supervisors needs to make wise decisions that do not make our over-crowded roads more dangerous, and which preserve our quality of life. As a bankruptcy trustee, I have seen the devastation of families due to bad economic management by our leaders. We must immediately prioritize our resources and infrastructure availability to encourage the creation of new businesses and new jobs. We must protect local access to health care for our seniors, and vigilantly protect and preserve the environmental resources that are the key to our economic well-being.

We must all work together to end the lack of accountability that has permeated county government.

I support supervisorial term limits to insure adherence to these principles.

Please vote for me as your representative on the Board of Supervisors.
