We need good long term jobs for our residents. We need to be assured that development proposals will bring benefit and not drain our resources or tax our infrastructure.
Outdoor recreation and eco-tourism is considered the fastest growing market in the tourism industry and Seaside is poised to take advantage of this for our benefit now and for future generations. We must not squander this opportunity by building on unique open space, habitat, and trails already used by thousands with no promotion, by building houses for which there is no demand. 13,000 Monterey County homes are in foreclosure, and our city blocks have many homes in need of fixing before we pave over our recreational open space. I believe in making wise use of our resources.
