BRINGING BUSINESS TO THE CITY OF POMONA

By Eunice Russell

Candidate for Council Member; City of Pomona; District 6

This information is provided by the candidate
We need to streamline the process for bringing business into Pomona and start seeking out businesses that fit the model we have created for our City.
When the State of California ended the Redevelopment Agency our City lost it's agency and now the City Council is acting as the Successor Agency. As Successor Agency for Redevelopment our City Council members should be working closely with both the City's Planning Department and the Planning Commissioners to make sure that everyone involved in the development of Pomona is on the same page.

We need to streamline to process for bringing in business to the City of Pomona and start seeking out businesses that fit the model we have created for our City.

Currently in District 6 we have more than 25,000 residents and not one grocery store. This situation was avoidable yet no one worked to stop it or correct the problem. Most Pomona residents have to shop in other communities for our basic needs which is unacceptable.

Business is where we get our sales tax revenue and that revenue is the foundation of our City's budget. Without sales tax revenue we are in jeopardy of losing more of our basic services and once they are gone we can't get them back.
