Candidate for
Member, Board of Directors; San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District; Division 3

I am a Professor of Civil Engineering and Environmental Science at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) in Los Angeles and teach graduate and undergraduate classes in Water Quality Management, and Water and Wastewater Treatment. I have been at LMU for 19 years and prior to that I was Vice President and Western Regional Manager for Parsons in Pasadena. Previous postions were with a large architectural engineering company in downtown Los Angeles and the Los Angeles County Flood Control District (now Public Works). I have engineering experience in the public and private sector as well as education.

I have over 48 years of professional experience in the planning, design, construction and operation of water supply, water treatment and recycled water systems.

I am a licensed civil engineer in CA, AZ, NV, NM and HI and have a grade T5 (highest grade) water treatment plant operator license.

I am a fellow and life member in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and life member in the American Water Works Association (AWWA), Water Environment Federation (WEF),and the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES). I am also a member of the Association of Environment Engineering and Science Professors. I currently a member of the Water Policy Committee for ASCE Region 9 (California).

I have lived in Monterey Park for over 40 years and served on the City's Design Review Board, Modification Committee and Environmental Commission.

I have served on Board of Directors of the San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District, representing Division 3, (most of Monterey Park) since 1989.
