Position Papers
Job Creation
I strongly believe in the importance of supporting small business and will work with Federal, State and Local Agencies to create employment opportunities for our residents.
Public Safety
Community identity, which extends to city services, is one of Downey's strengths and the thing that makes people want to live here. Local firefighters and paramedics know that they're serving their own community. It adds to our sense of cohesion. I'm open to analyzing the feasibiltiy data once it becomes available, but with a County force, Downey service could be less of a priority.
Balanced Budget
As a Downey business owner (Downey Publishing Works is a fully integrated Marketing Communications Agency), I will bring real world experience to make practical, common sense decisions. Being transparent and fiscally responsible is essential towards our future, going forward.
