Judge Stracener has been serving El Dorado County since 2010. Prior to his appointment to the Superior Court, he was a well-respected senior litigator and legal advisor with the CA Dept. of Personnel Administration. For 11 years, he was a high school teacher, who has a heart for the youth of our community.

As a conservative, Judge Stracener strongly supports the Second Amendment, Death Penalty and Three Strikes. He believes that judges should interpret the law - not legislate from the bench. Judge Stracener is tough on crime, independent, fair, respectful and impartial to all who appear before him.

Judge Stracener is a member of and endorsed by the National Rifle Association, Gun Owners of California,and the California Republican Assembly.

Judge Stracener and his wife, Michele, have been married for 22 years, have one daughter and lived in El Dorado County for over 15 years.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Represented clients before the US and California Supreme Courts, the Ninth Circuit, State Appellate Courts, and federal and state trial courts from Sacramento to LA counties.
  • 23 years experience in the public and private sector law.
  • Executive Appointee over the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation's Labor Relations Division, 2007 to 2010.
  • Liaison between the California Department of Personal Administration and Federal Court regarding Federal Court's oversight of California's prison system.
  • 11 years service as a High School Teacher, with 8 years in the San Juan Unified School District.
  • Worked with law enforcement agencies intermittently for 19 years.
